Now Hiring a temp Contracting & Purchasing Agent

Who’s one of the most popular people at a party? The person who buys the food! We are looking to hire someone for the role of Contracting & Purchasing Agent (CPA) in Central Food & Supplies (CFS) temporarily while we go through the hiring process to find a permanent replacement for Daniel Buehner, whose last day as CPA was Wednesday, Dec. 22nd.

The Contracting & Purchasing Agent places all of the orders for food and supplies that get sent to the houses and apartments, as well as supplies and equipment for the central staff, from our vendors. Here is the Contracting & Purchasing Agent job description, although the contracting and market analysis duties will not be required of the temp. This position will begin the week of Jan. 3rd with three half-days of four hours each (hours can be chosen by you btw. 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.) and will then become full-time starting the week of Jan. 10th from 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. The job is located in CFS, but it may be possible to do some of it remotely. The schedule may also be somewhat flexible, but 8:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. is necessary each day, and while at least 25 hours/week will be required, it may be possible to complete the duties in less than 40 hours each week. The pay rate will be $20.36/hour (higher than workshift!). The duration of the job is definite through Jan. 28th, but Board approval will be sought to extend it past that date until a permanent CPA is hired, which is anticipated to be in late February. You are welcome to apply for the permanent position of purchasing agent as well, which pays starting at $23.57/hour.

Professional Staff Position Wanted - Maintenance Liaison

General Job Description:

The Maintenance Liaison is responsible for assisting unit-level student managers in meeting BSC and City safety and maintenance guidelines. This position is responsible for training Maintenance Managers, providing ongoing support, and facilitating communication with the central-level. In conjunction with the Operations Manager, the Maintenance Liaison works with all central-level maintenance staff to ensure that units (houses and apartments) have effective maintenance programs, maintain reasonable safety standards, and effectively respond to fire inspection reports and maintenance issues.

COVID-19 Testing Information and Resources


The University Health Services offers two types of testing on campus: symptomatic/clinical tests and surveillance/asymptomatic tests. All testing can be ordered online at eTang, where you will be guided to the appropriate testing site.

COVID-19 Booster Shots:

  • Johnson and Johnson Booster Shot:
  • It is recommended that you get a booster shot 2 months after your initial dose of the vaccine
  • Moderna and Pfizer Booster Shots:
  • The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) expanded booster shot eligibility on November 19th 2021. It is now available for everyone 18+ who was fully vaccinated at least 6 months ago.
  • You are considered fully vaccinated 14 days after your second vaccine dose.
