The BSC Restorative Justice Practitioner Program
WRITTEN BY Lola & Markus (BSC Restorative Justice Practitioners)
Your BSC Restorative Justice Practitioners (RJPs) are here to empower members in building trust and a stable community. Read on to learn more about the ways the RJPs can provide support...
Community Building Circles
Community Building Circles help create strong community bonds within your house, which in turn helps reduce the level and frequency of conflict among house members. We can help facilitate a Community Building Circle at your House. In addition to empowering house members to connect, these Circles also provide a strong foundation for restorative approaches to future conflict.
Restorative Conferences for Conflict Resolution
Do you need extra hands on deck for addressing tensions that have been bubbling to the surface at your house? Incidents where harm has been done may be referred to the restorative justice process if one or more members are willing to acknowledge a level of responsibility. Using a Restorative Conference for conflict resolution creates a space that prioritizes accountability, healing relationships, and repairing harm. It brings together those involved in a conflict to identify impact, come to a common understanding, and determine what can be done to repair the relationships and community. If conflict arises in your house, and you'd like guidance, use the link for theRestorative Justice Intake form to request RJP support.

WRITTEN BY NOAH COMPO (Member Resources Manager)
Want to know more about how the BSC operates? We've got you covered! As a member-led and member-driven cooperative, genuine member empowerment at the BSC relies on a shared understanding about how collective decisions are made and how members can access resources. As the saying goes, "Knowledge is power." We want all members to be knowledgeable about how the BSC operates so YOU can harness the power you share together. To support members' ongoing learning process and engagement with our cooperative systems, we will be regularly sharing excerpts from the BSC Owner's Manual.
