We need ~300 votes for the referendum to pass!

BSC Garden Revitalization Update

WRITTEN BY EYTAN STANTON (Garden Manager)

Are you interested in joining ongoing BSC food sovereignty and habitat restoration efforts? We would love your help at these upcoming workdays. It's a great opportunity to be outside, meet fellow BSC gardeners and get your hands dirty!

Garden Manager Hub Opening Ceremony

Last Spring, ten Garden Managers from the Berkeley Student Cooperatives gathered to assess the barriers we face in achieving our goals and to envision our potential Berkeley-wide sustainability impact. We came up with a game plan, the 2024-2025 BSC Garden Revitalization, to materially support and educationally empower ourselves in our stewardship efforts. Join us on Sunday, May 4th from 1 - 4pm to celebrate our food sovereignty and native habitat restoration achievements, specifically the creation of permanent nursery infrastructure for supplying plants throughout the BSC. Fellow coopers, alumni, donors, students and professionals interested in food systems, sustainability, ecology and more are encouraged to join us in inaugurating our hub. Food will be provided!

Send an email to gmc@bsc.coop with RSVP in the subject if you are interested in joining.

Join our Last Workday (4/27)

Last Friday we had over 15 Garden Managers and their friends/family (from Ridge, Loth, Rochdale, Stebbins, Kingman, Hip and even alumni) come through to our irrigation and shade structure assembly day. Our FINAL workday will be this coming Sunday 4/27 from 10 am - 1pm. Please email gmc@bsc.coop if you are interested in attending. There will be bagels and coffee for those who RSVP.

NOW HIRING: Garden Manager Coordinator

The long awaited Garden Manager Coordinator position is officially hiring. Starting this Summer, this position will be in charge of managing the Garden Manager Hub and continuing to build our community (through group chats, training and more).
