Community Building Fund Info Session Recording

Hey BSC members,

Thank you to those who attended the Community Building Fund Info Session!

As promised, here’s the link to the video recording of External Affairs Committee (EACom) Shared screen with speaker view.

The Community Building Fund is a $20,000 pot of funds from the Berkeley Student Cooperative, available to BSC members and the broader Bay Area community. Anyone can apply! The fund goes towards mutual aid, cooperative development, care/ solidarity economy, and other community-promoting projects. Deadlines to Apply:

We will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis and acceptances will be announced in two rounds.

The first round of CB fund applications are due on January 24, 2023 and the acceptance results will be announced on February 9, 2023.

The second round of CB fund applications are due on April 18, 2023 and the acceptance results will be announced on May 4, 2023.

Once we receive your application, we will invite you to attend an External Affairs Committee meeting to discuss your idea and workshop the details. (Remember that your application does not have to be perfectly fleshed out to be considered! We are here to help you succeed).

The Development Associate plays a significant role in developing the funding strategies for the BSC scholarships, houses, and areas where there is greatest need. This is an area of great importance given the nonprofit nature of the BSC organization and the ever-increasing demands of providing affordable housing in Berkeley. This position covers the areas of use of data for increased community engagement, writing compelling messaging, identifying avenues of opportunity for promotion and raising funds for the BSC, and providing key support for an essential area of the BSC.

COVID-19 Testing Information and Resources

WRITTEN BY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM (ERT)

The University Health Services offers two types of testing on campus: symptomatic/clinical tests and surveillance/asymptomatic tests. All testing can be ordered online at eTang, where you will be guided to the appropriate testing site.

COVID-19 Booster Shots:

  • Johnson and Johnson Booster Shot:
  • It is recommended that you get a booster shot 2 months after your initial dose of the vaccine
  • Moderna and Pfizer Booster Shots:
  • The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) expanded booster shot eligibility on November 19th 2021. It is now available for everyone 18+ who was fully vaccinated at least 6 months ago.
  • You are considered fully vaccinated 14 days after your second vaccine dose.
