Meet Our New Staff Member
Please join us in welcoming Roberto to the BSC! We are so excited to have him join our team!
ROBERTO CARDENAS joins us today as our new Assistant CFS Supervisor for the Berkeley Student Cooperative.
“Hi I’m Roberto Cardenas! I became a BSC member in 2019 when I transferred to Cal. I transferred towards the end of the first summer session, spending my first 2 weeks at POC House, the rest of the summer at Davis, and the next 4 years at CZ. During that time I worked as Delivery Coordinator, Waste Reduction Coordinator, WRM and finally Food Manager at CZ (easily my favorite position). After graduating I continued working in food related fields, first in food service as a cook and later on in warehousing and distributing perishables. My time as a member of the BSC taught me how to live in community (even when it's difficult) and to show care for that community through my labor. I hope to bring this same attitude with me to the Assistant CFS Supervisor position. I enjoy cooking, a clean and organized kitchen, learning how to prepare new things (planning on trying my hand at cheesemaking soon), eating yummy food, my 3 cats, walking around Lake Merritt, reading manga, and going out to see live music.”
Please help us congratulate Roberto and welcome him back to the BSC, and stop by the office to say hello!
