BSC MEMBERS DIGEST -- March 30, 2026

It’s BSC Scholarship Registration Time! Register TODAY!

WRITTEN BY DAVID APPELBAUM (Development Director)

It’s that time again! Register now for your Fall/Spring Coop Scholarship.

The last day to register is June 26th - so don’t put it off. It’s closer than you think!

As a reminder, scholarships are based on need so it’s critical you fill out the application fully and set access to your Cal-Net account to the Development Director: dd@bsc.coop.

Amounts are either 1/3 or 2/3’s of one term’s rent divided by two. One half for Fall and one half for Spring. It is NOT a straight 1/3 or 2/3’s of your rent per term just so there’s no confusion.

You will also be eligible for additional scholarship funds from our pool of 10 endowed scholarships. These are funds donated by former members as part of their estate plan and are distributed based on both need and specific criteria such as GPA, area of study, place of birth, and other criteria they felt strongly about. Members are selected by the Estate executors and/or grant administrators.

Members: Temporary Sub-for-Pay Jobs Available!

The BSC often needs temporary workers to assist in the operations when workloads increase or when assigned workers are absent. We are now accepting applications from individuals interested in on-call job opportunities. There is no guarantee that work will be available, which departments will need workers or the duration of the assignment. We will give priority to current members, but everyone is welcome to apply. Learn more and get the application.

You can also email Anton Ennik (anton@bsc.coop) if you're specifically interested in on-call work in the Central Food & Supplies Department.

*There will likely be more positions posted as professional staff supervisor positions are filled and job descriptions are passed by the Internal Affairs Committee and the Board of Directors.

Please note that the above positions are only removed from the HiCom website once filled. In other words, no matter what stage the hiring is in (application review, interviews, offer, etc.), the position will remain posted until a qualified applicant accepts their offer for the position.
